Dormitory-style housing is available Sunday, July 7 through Friday, July 22nd. Both single and double occupancy rooms are available. A typical residence hall room provides each resident with a twin bed, dresser desk and chair. Each resident will also be provided with a linen pack, consisting of 2 sheets, a blanket, pillow and pillow case and two towels. Residence Halls are not air conditioned and participants are permitted to bring their own fans. Housing amenities include large, shared, gender-specific bathrooms, common lounge areas, coin-operated laundry facilities, and emergency-level services at the University’s Health Services. Complimentary parking permits for peripheral lots are provided for all Jazz in July participants upon Residence Hall check-in and at Jazz in July’s Monday morning orientation. A Jazz in July staff person will be staying at the Residence Hall and a University desk clerk is stationed in the Residence Hall lobby to assist participants. The Residence Hall Orientation Meeting is on Sunday, July 8th at 8:00PM in the assigned Residence Hall. This meeting is not required but strongly encouraged and open to all Jazz in July participants. Room rates are as follows:
Single-occupancy for one week: $205Please note: as of July 1, 2013, UMass will be a smoke free campus.
Single-occupancy for two weeks: $461
Double-occupancy for one week: $180
Double-occupancy for two weeks: $401
Check-in will be after 4pm on your day of arrival. Check-out will be before 2pm on your day of departure. Residents will be staying in Chadbourne Hall, located at 110 Orchard Hill Drive, Amherst MA 01003. A detailed email regarding housing information will be sent closer to the program start date.
Dining Hall Meal Plans are available on the UMass campus and are mandatory for participants under the age of 18 who will use Residence Hall housing. Meals are served cafeteria-style from 7:00AM to 7:00PM. A Jazz in July staff person will be present at the assigned Dining Hall during meal times.
Meal Plan Rates:
One week: $151.14 (includes 5 breakfasts, 5 lunches and 4 dinners)
Two-weeks: $381.46 (includes 12 breakfasts, 12 lunches and 11 dinners)
Dining Halls are open to the public and individual meals can be purchased at the dining hall with cash or credit.
Conferees canceling their registration before the close of business on June 28, 2013, will receive a full refund of their fees minus a $60 cancellation-processing fee and any administrative fees.
